Swedish Ferry Operator –
Massive £4,000,000 Fraud
  • A Swedish ferry operator engaged RPS to examine its on board services operation on ships travelling between Germany, Sweden, Denmark and Norway.

The preliminary results triggered our largest and most significant investigation to date, a multi-million pound fraud right across their fleet.

Teams of operatives, using brand new digital hi-tech surveillance equipment and travelling as passengers, revealed substantial organised employee thefts taking place in bars and restaurants.

During some of our bar observations, as much as 82% of the sales failed to be registered - and in the very busy restaurants as much as 50% of the sales were not recorded.

50 employees were subsequently dismissed for participating in the wide ranging fraud that was costing the company a staggering £4 Million per year.

RPS completed this massive undertaking in just 10 weeks from start to finish. Prosecutions are pending.
